Personally I was hooked from the moment I saw the trailer. Karl Urban hotness as a villian and Priyanka Chopra as the strong, kicking ass female main character, sign me up. 

I am so happy to say that I was not disappointed. 

Right from the start the movie had great action and a pretty straight forward storyline with each character having clear motiviations from the start. Though predictable in places it was still a great ride. 

Whoever decided that Priyanka and Karl needed to be in a movie together deserves a raise. Their onscreen chemistry is just out of this world and you could cut the tension with a knife. It was glorious. 

The fight scenes had me both smiling with joy and wincing in shock, the movie definietly earned the R rated on this one, but I mean her name says it all so that should tell you not to get on her bad side. Through it all though, it had a very heartfelt center as this woman is just trying to protect her new life from her old one in the only way she knows how. 

I will say again that Karl as a villian was just beatiful and a great choice. I really want to see him in other 'bad guy' roles as he can definitely pull off a person on either side of the coin. 

The ending did leave a little intrigue about what happens next but its a good stand alone movie that doesn't need a sequel, though I am not sad at the idea that there could be one. 

Final Thoughts

Overall I really loved it. It did not try to be something it wasn't and just ended up being a great, wild ride. Brought back similar vibes to some older movies where one person has to defend their home from countless others, one man army type, but in the best way. 

Score: 8 out of 10. If you love pirate movies with a one man army aspect, I highly recommend.

The voice actors did a great job at continuing their growth and embodying their characters very well. Dealing with the aftermath of season 2 there is a lot of talking and as my hubby pointed out, a lot of teen angst, even though I'm pretty sure the characters are supposed to be in their early twenties. I did defend them on this front as the situations they were dealing with would throw off people much older. Just keep in mind a lot of talking.
