Synopsis: A noble family becomes embroiled in a war for control over the galaxy's most valuable asset while its heir becomes troubled by visions of a dark future.

Dune is a science fiction classic. If you have not watched the previous movie or read the book then this is going to be an adventure for you. 

The synopsis explains the movie very well, however, if you are unfamiliar with the material it does well-explaining things, however, there are a few scenes that may be confusing. I should also let you know that this is a part one situation. At the time I watched the movie I was unaware of this and being so into what was going on, it came as a shock. 

That being said this movie is amazing. I am someone who has read the book and watched the old movie so I knew what was happening. However, this version really kicked up all the action scenes and brought the emotion of each situation perfectly. You hate the people you should and root for those you care about.

The entire cast did an amazing job with their roles and I can honestly say, even with the part one end, I'm so freaking excited to watch part two and how the finale will play out. Everyone did so well and made each situation feel real, in a life-threatening type way. 

I wanted to point out the performances of our lead Paul, played by Timothee Chalamet, the Duke played by Oscar Isaac, and the wonderful, Rebecca Ferguson, playing Lady Jessica. The Duke and Lady Jessica go through some rough times in this story and without spoilers, I will say that both played to their character's wants and needs perfectly. 
Timothee, playing Paul, was honestly incredible. He had a lot of expectations and pressure for this role and I personally believe he crushed it. I can't wait to see him in the next movie and all the incredible things that he will get to do. 

Final Thoughts

As I stated before if you know the material it will be the epic you want it to be. If you haven't seen the movie or read the book, it may get confusing in some scenes but please keep watching. I highly recommend this movie and think it is the best version of the material to date. Part two has a lot to live up to. 

8 out of 10. Definitely buying this one.

Cabinet of Curiosities - 2022 Netflix Original

  Genre:  Drama, Horror, Mystery Rating:  TV-MA Synopsis:  Bizarre nightmares unfold in eight tales of terror in a visually stunning, spine-tingling horror collection curated by Guillermo del Toro. As a huge fan of Guillermo del Toro, I had high hopes for this. The opening is visually stunning and the music reminds me of the nightmare before Christmas.  There are some huge stars present and regardless of the story, I personally think everyone did an incredible job showing each character. The problem with a collection of short stories, such as this, is you run into a time problem. Some stories did not get enough time, while others wasted time on things that did not progress fast enough for the time allotted.  Here is a quick breakdown of my thoughts for each episode.  Lot 36 - A very slow start and quick end. Lots of build up very little reward, but the monster was cool. 6 out of 10. Graveyard Rats - Very cool visuals, great story, and straight to the point. Great creature design. 8

Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous - Season 5 - Netflix Original

Genre: Animation, Action, Adventure, Family, Science Fiction Rating: TV PG Synopsis: Teens attending an adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar must band together to survive when dinosaurs wreak havoc on the island. Previous seasons do need to be watched to understand the relationships between the group and what they've been through so far.  If you've seen the Jurassic World movies, including the most recent it will add some missing details but it's not necessary to watch them before.  I would recommend watching the Jurassic World Dominion movie before the last episode so that some revelations during the show will make sense and will avoid spoilers if you haven't seen the movie.  Season 5 is the last season so it had high expectations to finish with a bang and wrap up any loose ends. With a total of  12 episodes, this time around I did think it was the perfect amount, with the exception of Episode 5 which I thought was pretty much a filler.  Worse: Episode
