I admit when I saw the trailer for this one I was very nervous.
My uncertainty with the predator having a companion seemed very out of place for their kind and I was not sure how it would play out in the story. I am glad I was put at ease early on by the type of relationship they had.
I was also very thankful that they did not have the predator speaking English as I felt he already looked way more human than usual and thought it would take away from what was left of his alien presence.
Speaking of the predator look, I have to say that I felt something was off about his face. Maybe something to do with his side 'panels' being too long, but they do say he is a younger version and the other Predators showed did not suffer the same look, so I put it to his younger age and not being as buff as the versions we are used to seeing.
I do have to say though Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi did an amazing job in their respective roles and really brought each character to life. Their chemistry was definiately a highligh in the movie. They both played characters that were very likeable and some scenes had my husband and I laughing out loud.
I will say that this is not just a kicking ass type movie so if you go in thinking it will be similar to the others in that regard you may be disappointed. They do focus a big portion of the movie on the relationship between the characters, which may deter some.
However the movie has quite a few great action sequences and the world around them was just breathtaking in its different plants and animal life. The multiple creature designs were pretty cool.
Final Thoughts
Overall very cool and highly recommend to any predator fan to increase the lore behind their specific customs in regards to their upbringing and hunting.
Score: Solid 7.5 out of 10. Rewatchable & filled with action.
Always Keep Fighting.
You Are Enough.
