***
From the trailer I was intrigued about the premise of this movie, though honestly I am a little on the Terminator side of the AI discussion.
Each actor did great with the material they were presented with. Chris Pratt as Det. Christopher "Chris" Raven is semi likeable and plays the part perfectly. You can feel the distress and emotion as the story progresses. Rebecca Ferguson as Judge Maddox is great as the AI judge.
Right off the bat I could not help but compare this movie to the Tome Cruise movie, Minority Report. Very similar vibes in a good way. Though out of the two I would prefer Minority Report.
The atmosphere and AI details were beatuiful to see on screen. Sadly the pacing was all over the place. It was a little slow in the beginning, then when it finally started getting going, everything happened all at once and it ended. The ending definiately felt rushed.
There was enough mystery to keep my husband and I interested until the end, though we both felt it needed an additional wrap up scene or two to round it out.
Final Thoughts
Overall we liked it but both agreed it was a one and done. As mentioned above Minority Report work in a similar way and was way more our style so we'd prefer that one if given a choice between the two. Love Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson but this one was just good. Not great.
Score: 7 out of 10. Recommend as a one time but not a redo.
Always Keep Fighting.
