Anaconda - 2026

Synopsis:  A group of friends are going through a mid-life crisis. They decide to remake a favorite movie from their youth but encounter unexpected events when they enter the jungle.

I really like Jack Black and Paul Rudd so I was hopeful when I heard about this movie, yet worried about the execution. 

I was right to be worried. 

All actors were doing what they do, which was playing off each other. Jack and Paul did great with what they were given, and the other actors did their best to keep up. I imagine the blooper reel for this was many hours of footage. Sadly that being said it did not help the movie. 

The storyline was overly predictable, the humor was obvious and most of the good parts were shown in the trailer, so there was no surprise factor which would have changed the impact to a more positive light.  

The special effects were pretty decent and there were a few laughs. Thankfully I feel the finale made up for the rest of the movie, but it still was not enough for me by then to score higher. 

Final Thoughts

Overall it was a brainless ride with a few laughs and special effects. If you want a movie to switch off your brain too, this is the one. Sadly, for me it was a once and done. 

Score: 6 out of 10. Once was enough.

The voice actors did a great job at continuing their growth and embodying their characters very well. Dealing with the aftermath of season 2 there is a lot of talking and as my hubby pointed out, a lot of teen angst, even though I'm pretty sure the characters are supposed to be in their early twenties. I did defend them on this front as the situations they were dealing with would throw off people much older. Just keep in mind a lot of talking.
