Transformers One - 2024

Synopsis: The untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but who once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever.

Any fan of the Transformers can guess where this story is headed, but is worth watching?

I do want to give props to the cast as they did put their talents to good use and expressed the emotions of each character perfectly as they dealt with each situation that came up. 

The animation was visually stunning and I appreciated the details that had some that only avid fans would recognize. Also hearing about the backstory of the transformers, and planet and some of its history was interesting to learn, while each robot design was beautiful in its own way. 

Overall the movie was interesting, yet it was predictable on some key points that I do not think were supposed to be, and had story based moments that made no sense towards the end. It is hard to go into detail without spoilers, but I definitely had a what the heck moment. They were so desperate to make the characters live up to their well known counterparts that it felt forced in the worst way. 

Final Thoughts

If you are a fan of the Transformers it is worth watching at least once to see the history behind what we know as Cybertron. However, I do not think it has the impact that the movie was going for. 

Score:. 7 out of 10. Worth watching once, but not really a do over for me or my family.

Thor: Love and Thunder - 2022

  Genre: Action, Adventure, Comedy Rating:  PG-13 Synopsis:  Thor enlists the help of Valkyrie, Korg, and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster to fight Gorr the God Butcher, who intends to make the gods extinct. Right off the bat, this movie shows that it means business. Backstory on 'villains' is usually hit or miss but in this case, I kinda need to be on Bale's side. The heartbreak and revelation would crush anyone and honestly, I don't blame him for his initial decision.  I personally love Christian Bale yet at times his character came across as just creepy and not really scary or much of a threat. Although the fights were pretty cool.  The creature design is excellent from what we get to see. Personally, I wish we could see a lot more of them.  The Jane storyline was a little mixed up and not really necessary for the movie in my opinion. Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous - Season 5 - Netflix Original

Genre: Animation, Action, Adventure, Family, Science Fiction Rating: TV PG Synopsis: Teens attending an adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar must band together to survive when dinosaurs wreak havoc on the island. Previous seasons do need to be watched to understand the relationships between the group and what they've been through so far.  If you've seen the Jurassic World movies, including the most recent it will add some missing details but it's not necessary to watch them before.  I would recommend watching the Jurassic World Dominion movie before the last episode so that some revelations during the show will make sense and will avoid spoilers if you haven't seen the movie.  Season 5 is the last season so it had high expectations to finish with a bang and wrap up any loose ends.
