Teen Wolf: The Movie 2023
Genre: Drama, Fantasy, Mystery
Rating: TV-MA
Synopsis: A full moon rises in Beacon Hills, and with it a terrifying evil has emerged. The wolves are howling once again, calling for the return of Banshees, Werecoyotes, Hellhounds, Kitsunes, and every other shapeshifter in the night. But only a Werewolf like Scott McCall, no longer a teenager yet still an Alpha, can gather both new allies and reunite trusted friends to fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they’ve ever faced.
Being a huge fan of the TV show I was looking forward to this as I was intrigued as to what my favorite supernatural beings were up to and what they would face.
Honestly, for the villain of the story, I was somewhat confused by the choice, especially with the fact that the character highly connected to it in many ways, was missing entirely. Now I know that not all actors want to return for a follow-up, whether it be a sequel or whatever, however with this in mind the choice of villain just made little sense. Knowing that someone was not returning should have been taken into account when deciding on which old villain or if a new type should have been introduced.
Now with that being said I absolutely loved the movie. It came across as an extended version of the TV show and I loved that. It was almost as if they put an entire season or arch into a movie, which worked out in their favor.
Each returning cast member did an incredible job. It was as if they had never left their characters and gave us exactly the welcome back we all wanted. Special props to the new member of the cast, Vince Mattis as Eli. He really held his own against the well-known characters and I was rooting for him by the end.
Final Thoughts
Aside from the returning villain, it was a great story with amazing characters. The special effects were next level and I have hope that if given the chance they can come back with an even bigger and better movie for a sequel. I won't repeat my villain feedback, but in the beginning, I did feel the missing character's absence...But that could be because I'm a million percent team, Stiles.
Overall 8 out of 10. Fans of the series will love this, even without Stiles.
Always Keep Fighting.
You Are Enough.
