Morbius - 2022

Synopsis: A biochemist with a rare blood disease in search of a cure injects himself with a dangerous serum that gives him super strength and a thirst for blood. 

The trailer for this movie had me invested from the get-go. I mean who doesn't like vampire-type movies, especially ones that are old school with carnage and blood. The PG-13 rating does restrict some of the action, but honestly, I don't think it would have helped overall. 

Each actor did a good performance and of course, props have to go to Jared Leto as he really does carry the movie in places. Loved seeing Tyrese Gibson in a more serious role and Matt Smith was a great backup for Jared's character. 

I do have to say that this movie is pretty predictable early on so don't expect any major twists or turns. The fight scenes are very blurry so it's hard to tell what's going on, which for me pulled me out of the moment a little. And the after-credit scenes didn't really do anything to hype up another movie. At least not one that I care about. If it was something about just Morbius then maybe. 

I also have to say that the CGI was definitely hit or miss throughout. In some scenes, you could hardly tell and in others, it was clearly an issue.  

That being said I overall really liked it. It was a superhero movie with a twist and that twist was freaking vampires. 

Will it win awards? No. 

Is it a good time? Yes. 

Final Thoughts

Personally, I think that they should have focused more on his journey and less on the let's make another superhero movie mindset and it would have worked better. But if you take it for what it is, it's a good ride. And of course, personally, I love watching Jared Leto work as he really gets invested in the characters he plays. 

7 out of 10. Worth watching. I will buy this one for the action and Jared Leto.

Cabinet of Curiosities - 2022 Netflix Original

  Genre:  Drama, Horror, Mystery Rating:  TV-MA Synopsis:  Bizarre nightmares unfold in eight tales of terror in a visually stunning, spine-tingling horror collection curated by Guillermo del Toro. As a huge fan of Guillermo del Toro, I had high hopes for this. The opening is visually stunning and the music reminds me of the nightmare before Christmas.  There are some huge stars present and regardless of the story, I personally think everyone did an incredible job showing each character. The problem with a collection of short stories, such as this, is you run into a time problem. Some stories did not get enough time, while others wasted time on things that did not progress fast enough for the time allotted.  Here is a quick breakdown of my thoughts for each episode.  Lot 36 - A very slow start and quick end. Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous - Season 5 - Netflix Original

Genre: Animation, Action, Adventure, Family, Science Fiction Rating: TV PG Synopsis: Teens attending an adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar must band together to survive when dinosaurs wreak havoc on the island. Previous seasons do need to be watched to understand the relationships between the group and what they've been through so far.  If you've seen the Jurassic World movies, including the most recent it will add some missing details but it's not necessary to watch them before.  I would recommend watching the Jurassic World Dominion movie before the last episode so that some revelations during the show will make sense and will avoid spoilers if you haven't seen the movie.  Season 5 is the last season so it had high expectations to finish with a bang and wrap up any loose ends. With a total of  12 episodes, this time around I did think it was the perfect amount, with the exception of Episode 5 which I thought was pretty much a filler.  Worse: Episode
