Hocus Pocus 2 - 2022 Disney Plus

Synopsis: When the Sanderson Sisters are accidentally brought back to modern-day Salem, three friends must figure out how to stop the child-hungry witches from wreaking havoc on the world.

Right off the bat Flashing Lights Warning. There are a few scenes that involve flashing lights so if you're sensitive please be cautious. 

The movie takes place 29 years after the first movie with a completely different storyline. This somewhat explains why other original cast members were not included. Although I was slightly disappointed that they didn't at least have a small cameo since we live in a time where cameos are very common. 

Didn't really feel like a sequel as only 1 thing was the same, a virgin lit the candle. You do not need to watch the original as any references are clearly explained and some footage included. Personally, I think watching the original would still add to the experience so I do think it would give more depth to the characters if you do watch it. 

The few flashback scenes were hilarious and the kids who were chosen to portray the younger sisters were perfect. 

The Sanderson sisters still have great chemistry and build off each other and seeing Billy was just a great treat. Each actor did an amazing job in their respective roles. The new teenage cast was incredible and worked well with the others perfectly. I expect great things from them in the future. 

Final Thoughts

For those who have never seen the original, this movie should just be a charming addition to any witch-type Disney movies you like. Heartfelt, funny, and a little action. 

For those, like me, who love the original I think this movie will be great, just slightly lacking a deeper connection to the original that I would have hoped for. Basically, I was hoping they would somehow tie in more of the original cast.

7 out of 10. Recommend even if you haven't seen the original. Will buy this one for the collection.

Cabinet of Curiosities - 2022 Netflix Original

  Genre:  Drama, Horror, Mystery Rating:  TV-MA Synopsis:  Bizarre nightmares unfold in eight tales of terror in a visually stunning, spine-tingling horror collection curated by Guillermo del Toro. As a huge fan of Guillermo del Toro, I had high hopes for this. The opening is visually stunning and the music reminds me of the nightmare before Christmas.  There are some huge stars present and regardless of the story, I personally think everyone did an incredible job showing each character. The problem with a collection of short stories, such as this, is you run into a time problem. Some stories did not get enough time, while others wasted time on things that did not progress fast enough for the time allotted.  Here is a quick breakdown of my thoughts for each episode.  Lot 36 - A very slow start and quick end. Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous - Season 5 - Netflix Original

Genre: Animation, Action, Adventure, Family, Science Fiction Rating: TV PG Synopsis: Teens attending an adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar must band together to survive when dinosaurs wreak havoc on the island. Previous seasons do need to be watched to understand the relationships between the group and what they've been through so far.  If you've seen the Jurassic World movies, including the most recent it will add some missing details but it's not necessary to watch them before.  I would recommend watching the Jurassic World Dominion movie before the last episode so that some revelations during the show will make sense and will avoid spoilers if you haven't seen the movie.  Season 5 is the last season so it had high expectations to finish with a bang and wrap up any loose ends. With a total of  12 episodes, this time around I did think it was the perfect amount, with the exception of Episode 5 which I thought was pretty much a filler.  Worse: Episode
