The Princess 2022 - Hulu Original
Genre: Action, Drama, Fantasy
Rating: R for strong/bloody violence and some language.
Synopsis: When a strong-willed princess refuses to wed a cruel sociopath, she is kidnapped and locked in a remote tower. With her scorned, vindictive suitor intent on taking her father's throne, the princess must protect her family and save the kingdom.
Straight out of the gate this princess is not one to be messed with. I found myself rooting for her right from the opening scenes. Joey King, as The Princess, really just brought her game and crushed this movie. I felt for her character on so many levels and you really do just want to cheer her on the entire movie. Dominic Cooper shined as Julius, the awful suitor to our wonderful princess. He can definitely play a villain for sure.
The choreographed fight scenes are just beautiful. Joey really did just make the moves her own and never once did it look out of place. The storyline is basic, yet I feel it matched the overall feel of the movie.
The only bad part of this movie was for sure one specific fire effect. The CGI was just awful and almost took away from the moment. Thankfully it was saved by more ass kicking so it was easy not to dwell on it.
Final Thoughts
As you can tell I'm seriously in love with this movie. Everyone did so well and the fight scenes were just breathtaking. Joey brought her game and it showed. I mean an ass-kicking princess who acts like sword fighting is hard work, which is it. Perfection.
9 out of 10. Highly Recommend it to anyone who loves sword fighting, and adventure movies. I will purchase it as soon as I can.
Always Keep Fighting.
You Are Enough.
