***
Right from the introduction to the series, you can tell without reading the descriptions that it is the same Love, Death, and Robots team. As it is 15 different stories you have to remember that the same story will not continue on the next episode.
The cast did an incredible job of embodying each character and bringing the animation to life.
Each animation style was done with a specific vision in mind and I thought that each one was executed amazingly. The visuals on every single one were just stunning and some I just loved so much there were not enough words to describe them. This series really shined in this element.
The biggest letdown for me on a few occasions was the story or lack thereof. While some had a simple plot, at least it was clear and executed perfectly in the short amount of time given. Some of them I felt just wanted to look pretty but didn’t really hold a short story that could be told in the amount of time given.
Since this series is directed at games and gamers, I will admit that there could have been elements such as easter eggs, etc that I did not catch on to. If you see anything that is one please let me know as I’m always curious about that.
Best Episode: S1 E1 - Dungeons & Dragons: The Queen’s Cradle. Great story and the visuals are stunning.
Worst Episode: S1 E12 - Spelunky: Tally. It was promising yet didn’t show a complete story and felt like it was just showing the skills of the artists.
Final Thoughts
Overall it was a great time and while some blew me away, others were just pretty to look at. I will definitely come back and watch a few of them over and over again so it was a win in my book. The average score comes to around 7.2 out of 10, however I feel a few deserved more.
Score: 8 of out 10. Some are worth watching over again. Recommended for fantasy fans.
Always Keep Fighting.
You Are Enough.
