***

I had very little information going into this movie and honestly, I think that is the best way to enjoy it. The main character, Brynn, is played beautifully by Kaitlyn Dever, who until this movie I had not heard of. I am definitely paying attention now.

Though the movie has almost no dialogue so much is said with facial expressions, situational awareness, and body language. Without words, you can almost hear what she is thinking and for the most part, I was thinking the same things.

Right from the opening scenes, you get an understanding of Brynn and how she does not fit in with her community, though she really tries. Thankfully I did not have to wait long until the action started and the first watch of this movie had me on the edge of my seat. Each creature is well designed and the special effects were perfect as they always felt as if they belonged in the neighborhood.

After watching the movie a second time I realized that it has an ending that could be taken good or bad depending on your viewpoint. Without spoilers, it is hard to discuss but revelations and decisions are made that impact our main character in a huge way. For me the ending was hopeful.

Final Thoughts

Honestly, I really liked this show. It was a combination alien invasion/home invasion movie and Brynn made a lot of good decisions that you do not usually see in those types of movies. I can not rave enough about how they pulled off this type of movie with very little dialogue. If you watch this movie for nothing else I highly recommend it simply for that fact. Without words you can see so much about the environment around her and Kaitlyn pulled at my heart with every scene.

The only negative I could think of would be the ending as people will need to decide on how they view it, positive or negative. I chose to view it positively, however, it most definitely could go either way and I think some people will dislike that.

Overall  7 out of 10. I highly recommend watching it at least once because of the lack of words with maximum impact. Potentially will own this one.

Always Keep Fighting.

You Are Enough.
