Stranger Things Season 4 - Netflix Original Series

Genre: Fantasy, Drama, Horror, Science Fiction

Rating: TV 14 - This season deals with very violent deaths. Watch it first.

Synopsis: In March 1986, eight months after the events of the third season, several teenagers in Hawkins are killed in mysterious ways. Due to the events in Hawkins and the imminent danger to her friends Eleven is taken to a secret facility to help her regain her powers. And when Joyce finds a clue that suggests Hopper is still alive nothing will stand in her way. But what if it's a Demogorgon?

Wow, Netflix really did push the boundaries with this season for sure. Though I have to say for the most part it was just beautiful. The color contrasts, characters, special effects, and everything in between were somehow magical.

This season more new characters were introduced and while each actor played their part amazingly, there is a clear winner. Eddie, played by Joseph Quinn, was just perfection. My son would like me to shout out Hopper's Russian friend, Dimitri, Tom Wlaschiha and I agree he was also great.

This season clearly the stand-out was Max, played by Sadie Sink. Just WOW. Sadie was given a huge opportunity and brought it. Sadie and Milly Bobby Brown made this season incredible with their performances. Each made this season worth watching and pushing passed the more boring moments.

Sadly I agree with my son about the villain. I'm not including the actor's name to prevent spoilers. He was creepy sure but not really that scary. Mostly just annoying, although the ending reveal is pretty awesome. And the actor did an incredible job of bringing the character to life. He was just lacking something. I'm not sure exactly what.

As always the Duffer brothers were able to capture the time period with all the furniture, hair, makeup etc. In all seriousness, if you told me this was made in the 80s I would completely believe you. Clearly, the special effects are not the same but you know what I mean.

Best: Episode 9 - The Piggyback. Everything came together beautifully. Like watching music unfold.

Worst: Honestly each one had something great about it so I couldn't pick a specific one. However anytime Papa and the Hawkins jocks popped up I rolled my eyes. I understand they each played a part but still. So annoying and something I didn't care about at all.

Final Thoughts

Netflix really did outdo themselves with this season. This season was split into 3 plotlines and unfortunately, they should have kept to only 2 at the most. The main Eleven plot was by far the best one and Hoppers could have been resolved in just 1 episode but it continued for the entire season. And sadly the grand finale ending is left pretty much screaming, there's going to be another one stay with us. That being said Eddie was a delight and the original cast brought their game to this one.

8 out of 10. Highly Recommend. Push through the Jocks and you'll be alright.

Always Keep Fighting.

You Are Enough.
